Exhibition at the Chicago Design Museum - Images

For the last edition of Confluence • 20+ we unveiled our their latest experimental porcelain projects called “Déshabillé” and “Clay Bodies”. The pieces were made for the show and under the label Julie & Jesse.

We also created an interactive installation transforming part of the display into a live ceramic studio in which we produced a unique edition of our Fragment(s) project, casting discarded moulds brought directly from the factories of Jingdezhen, China.

The exhibition ran from the 13th of October to the 4th of November 2017 at the Chicago Design Museum. Here are a few images of the show.

Shifting Objectives: Studio Visit

On December 17th 2016 we had the pleasure of sharing behind-the-scenes stories of our creations through a workshop organised by M+ the new museum for visual culture as part of the educational programme of the ‘Shifting Objectives’ exhibition taking place at the M+ Pavilion. We had a great time hosting a tour of the studio, demonstrating how our Fragment(s) vases are made and presenting our work to the participants. It’s always amazing to generate a dialogue through our designs and creative ideas. Thank you to the whole team at M+ for inviting us to take part in this wonderful sharing session.

Shifting Objectives, M+ Museum, Hong Kong

Fragment(s) vase B takes part in the M+’s debut design exhibition – Shifting Objectives: Design from the M+ Collection – from 30 Nov 2016 to 5 Feb 2017.

M+’s debut design exhibition – Shifting Objectives: Design from the M+ Collection – explores the many concepts and frameworks that have shaped and broadened our understanding of design. Featuring dozens of key objects and works – from mid-twentieth century Japanese furniture, to familiar products from Hong Kong’s manufacturing heyday, to drones, ‘copied’ goods, and digitally-enabled and open-source practices – this groundbreaking show illustrates how design philosophies and practices have changed from the post-Second World War period until now. In so doing, Shifting Objectives outlines the growing contours of the M+ design collection, which is the first of its kind in Asia and a core pillar of M+.

A series of programmes—including workshops, talks, a studio visit, a teachers’ private view, and guided tours for the public, schools, and visitors with specific needs—accompany the exhibition.

In the run up to the opening of the M+ building in 2019, the M+ Pavilion functions as a temporary home for M+ exhibitions and events.
