Julie was born and raised in Hong Kong by her Swiss parents before heading to Paris to study textiles at Duperré. After a few years in New York exploring product design at Parsons and working for Studio Bevan, she came back to her Hong Kong roots in 2008 with her husband Jesse to launch their own design studio, latitude.

Spending most of her life in Hong Kong has not only taught Julie how to perfectly dodge passers-by on the sidewalk, it has also given her a taste for the eclectic, for patchwork and for the bits and pieces that make up this incredible city – Julie thinks and works in a Chinese way, finding inspiration in cultural crossover to collate and collect the colors and patterns that fuel her thoughts.

That’s not to say that her origins have had no influence. Julie’s Swiss roots have brought her a dedication to precision and balance. She is attentive almost to the point of obsession to the little details, and is passionate about creating perfection.
